If you like your morning walk so don't need a delivery, but don't want to miss out on your Newspaper or Magazine, we'll save it for you. We'll put your name on it, put it away securely, and you can come and pick it up when you're ready, safe in the knowledge that even if we sell out, yours will still be waiting for you 'under the counter'. This service is a freebie and a very popular method used in the town. Many a new friendship has begun in Willetts when people are popping in to pick up their 'save'
Deliverers required
If you are active and over 13 (a legal must!) please get in touch. If you're older and a driver, that would be a bonus - but it's not essential. We want to talk to reliable, punctual individuals of all ages to help us deliver the news in Dunmow and the surrounding villages.
With us it's personal
Paul Moreton, the owner, has lived in the town for thirty years, raising his family here and so has a real understanding of how important Willetts is to the people in and surrounding Great Dunmow. Paul once helped his father-in-law (Kenny Irvin), a previous owner, to run the shop and 10 years ago he took it over himself and doesn’t intend on letting it go anytime soon!
Character
Willetts has been a part of the Great Dunmow community for over 140 years. Alongside watching the community flourish, the shop has lived through two world wars, ten recessions and a global pandemic! Being one of the oldest shops in the town, the character can not only be seen outside but also when you step inside. The store was refitted and modernised when Paul took over, but importantly kept as many characteristic features as possible - where you shop for greeting cards today was once a barbers!
Keeping it local
We only employ local people. They do their job locally, spend their money locally and support the town where they live. They really do 'keep it local'.
